The Division of Asia Collections at Kroch Library announces the opening of the exhibition Islam in Asia: Diversity in Past and Present.
Location: Kroch Library, Entrance Hallway
November 2016 – April 2017
The world of Islam is not monolithic, nor is it limited to the Middle East. Asia is home to 65 percent of the world’s Muslims, including an incredible variety of different sects, beliefs, and traditions.
This exhibition explores the diversity of Islamic heritage of Asia past and present, the spread of religion along the ancient Silk Road, and how religion itself was affected by the wide variety of cultures and traditions found in Asia.
