Finding Books in Japanese Catalogs

Cornell researchers' first stop for Japanese book searches should be Worldcat, which contains records for Japanese books (character searchable) in North American libraries, as well as in select institutions around the world.  As only two Japanese institutions (Waseda University and the National Diet Library) contribute to Worldcat, users seeking to discover the larger realm of books in Japanese are encouraged to explore the following catalogs. Books in print or available on the used market may be requested for purchase through the Japanese bibliographer, others through interlibrary loan.
