The Wason Collection holdings comprise

more than 700,000 monographs, which include

420,000 volumes in Chinese, 168,000 volumes in

Japanese, 20,000 volumes in Korean, and 92,000

volumes in Western languages. Along with the

Echols Collection on Southeast Asia and the South

Asia Collection, the Wason Collection is housed in

90th Anniversary of the Wason Collection

The Wason Collection recently celebrated the 90th anniversary of the original, 1918 bequest on which Cornell University Library's East Asian collection was founded.  See information on the celebratory 90th Anniversary Conference and highlights from the collection under Collection History.  Guides to using the collection and East Asian materials in general are available under the Guides to Resources link.  For acquisition requests, research assistance or general questions, please use the Wason Staff guide to contact us.

Cornell & Columbia Extend Borrowing Privileges to Each Other

A new agreement between Cornell & Columbia allows users of either university to borrow from the other's collections.  This is the first agreement of this kind in the Ivy League.  In addition, Southeast Asia experts from both universities will be shared and a collaborative buying plan for Chinese materials will be implemented.  For more information, read the full article.
