Conference Site: Cornell University Campus
The City of Ithaca, nestled in the scenic Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, is the home of Cornell University – the site of the Wason conference. Cornell sits on a hilltop overlooking Cayuga Lake, the largest of central New York's Finger Lakes, and two sides of the campus are bound by gorges. No matter where you are on campus, you are never far from the sight and sound of falling water.
Cornell’s Web site offers a wealth of information about visiting the University:
- Directions and travel information, including bus stations and airports
Ithaca is also famous for its natural beauty and offers a range of cultural activities. VisitIthaca.com and IthacaEvents.com both have valuable information for visitors.
Accommodations
Conference attendees are responsible for arranging their own accommodations, but the conference has blocked rooms in the Ithaca hotels: the Hilton Garden Inn and the Holiday Inn. The cut-off date for the hotel rooms at the discount rate is September 30, 2008. Because hotel rooms in Ithaca are in extremely high demand, we strongly urge participants to make reservations before that date.
Reservations can be made directly by calling the hotels or registering online.
